How can I join Clinique VIP? Does it cost anything?

If you're a new Clinique customer, you should visit the Clinique counter at your usual El Corte Inglés; with your first purchase, you'll be able to register in our new loyalty programme. Once we have your details, we will send you an email with your credentials (user ID and password) so you can access your Clinique VIP account via the website (cliniquevip.es) or our "Clinique VIP" app. If you've ever purchased a Clinique product or belonged to the VIP programme and we have your details stored, we'll send you an email with your credentials (user ID and password) so you can access your Clinique VIP via the website (cliniquevip.es) or our "Clinique VIP" app. It doesn't cost anything to join Clinique VIP for El Corte Inglés.

Who can join Clinique VIP?

The Clinique VIP programme is available to persons who are legal residents of Spain (including its territories and possessions), who are at least 18 years of age or older and provide and maintain a valid email address or cell phone number. Employees of The Estée Lauder Companies and persons employed by our business partners or suppliers are eligible for membership for personal use only, but may be excluded from certain program benefits.

How does Clinique VIP work?

Clinique VIP for El Corte Inglés is a loyalty programme that rewards customers for purchasing Clinique products. It is a tier-based programme determined by the number of points a member has earned within a single year for eligible purchases and through qualifying activities beginning on the date you join. There are three tiers of associated benefits

  • · Tier 1, Smart 0 – 250 points
  • · Tier 2, Brilliant 251 – 549 points
  • · Tier 3, Genius 550+ points

When you join, you'll automatically enter Tier 1, Smart, and you'll be eligible for all the benefits that Smart members receive. Once you've earned at least 251 points in your first year, you'll automatically move up to Tier 2, Brilliant. If you get 550 or more points in your first year, you'll be eligible for Tier 3, Genius. Your status in a particular tier will remain the same during the year in which you are eligible for that tier and during the following full year. After that, you’ll need to earn enough points to continue to remain in that tier each year. For example, if you enter Tier 2, Brilliant, during your first year, you’ll maintain your Brilliant status during your second year. However, if you earn fewer than 251 points from eligible purchases and qualifying activities during your second year, you’ll move down to Tier 1, Smart status in your third year. The higher the tier, the better the benefits.

What benefits do members receive?

As a member, you earn points that determine your points benefits plus your tier and tier benefits.

Points benefits: at different point levels, you'll be able to redeem your points for rewards that can be used in conjunction with a purchase in any El Corte Inglés. These rewards are based on the total number of points you have accumulated in a single year as shown below. You'll be able to redeem one reward per purchase. You must redeem your available points before your anniversary date or the available rewards will expire. On your anniversary date, your points are reset to 0 and you start accumulating new points and earning new rewards.

Tier benefits: certain benefits are based on the tier attained; you're eligible for these benefits while you are in that tier, regardless of the number of points you have at the time. Tier benefits can only be redeemed at El Corte Inglés. On your anniversary date, even though your points are reset to zero, your initial tier status for the year is determined by the total number of points you earned in the previous year.

Tier 1, Smart: 0-250 points

Birthday gift (Service + Customised Sample + mini-size product).

Tier 2, Brilliant: 251-549 points

Birthday gift (Service + Customised Sample + Mini-size product).

Exclusive makeup service twice yearly.

Tier 3, Genius: 550 or more points

Birthday gift (Service + Customised Sample + Mini-size product).

Any Clinique Service during the entire year.

Advance sale of new products.

Exclusive travel minis twice yearly.

Bonus gift during national promotions twice yearly.

How can I earn points?

Clinique VIP members receive one point for every euro spent (suggested retail price) on eligible purchases exclusively at any Clinique counter in El Corte Inglés (excluding elcorteingles.es).

Why have my points disappeared?

Points are valid for one year from your Clinique VIP anniversary date. On your anniversary date each year, your available points expire and are reset to zero and you start accumulating new points to redeem for new rewards. On your anniversary date, even though your points are reset to zero, your tier status is determined by the number of points earned in the previous year.

What is my Clinique VIP anniversary date, and where can I find it?

This is the anniversary of the date on which you enrolled in the Clinique VIP programme and it happens every 12 months. For example, if you joined Clinique VIP on 15 November 2016, your anniversary date will be 15 November 2017, and every 15 November of the following years. Your anniversary date is shown in your Clinique VIP account.

Why do my current points not reflect my current tier status?

In your first year as a member of Clinique VIP membership, your tier status is determined by the points you accumulate during that first year. Once one year has elapsed from your anniversary date, your points are reset to zero, and you can start getting point benefits again. While your points decrease when you redeem them for points benefits and are reset each year on your anniversary date, your initial tier status for the year is determined by the points accumulated during your previous year of membership; you are eligible for those tier benefits regardless of the number of points you may have.

How can I check my account status and monitor my points?

You can check the status of your Clinique VIP account via our "Clinique VIP" app or by visiting cliniquevip.es, where you can track your current points, your tier and the benefits available. All points are pending until they are redeemable 30 days after the purchase date, at which time they become fully available.

How much time is needed for my purchases to convert into points?

What happens to my Clinique VIP benefits and/or points if I return a product or if an order is cancelled?

Any product that is returned or any order that is cancelled will void the points you received for that purchase. If you move up to a new tier with that purchase, your tier will also be adjusted accordingly. If it is found that an order has been obtained through fraudulent or other activities violating the Clinique VIP Terms & Conditions, those points and the tier status, if applicable, will also be reversed.

How do I get my benefits?

You can redeem your points (once they are redeemable) by choosing a product from our Gift Catalogue. When your gift is available (approximately 15 days) your Clinique Beauty Advisor will contact you to pick it up at your usual El Corte Inglés.

How can I receive my birthday gift?

You can redeem your Birthday Gift at any stand in El Corte Inglés by showing the email or SMS that you will receive if you have provided your birth date in your account profile. The Birthday Gift promotion is valid for one month. In other words, if your birthday is 20 June 2018, the promotion is valid until 20 July 2018.

How much time do I have to pick up my gift at El Corte Inglés?

From the moment one of our consultants contacts you to pick up your gift, we will keep it at El Corte Inglés for a period of 3 months. If during this period you do not go for the gift it will expire.

What do the Advance Sales benefits consist of?

Every so often, Clinique VIP Tier 3 Genius members are offered early access to purchase select products before they are offered for sale to the general public. Qualifying members will receive email invitations when these offers become available. Members must login to their accounts to redeem this benefit. These offers are available for a limited time and while supplies last.

Can I return a product that I received as a reward from Clinique VIP or exchange it for money?

No. Products received as a reward (e.g. free full-size products, etc.) through Clinique VIP cannot be returned or exchanged for money or any other products or points.

Yes. Points expire on your anniversary date, at which time they are reset to zero. You must redeem your available points before your anniversary date.

Do my tier status and tier benefits expire?

Tier benefits are valid for as long as you are in a specific tier. If you move down a tier, your benefits change accordingly. Once one year has elapsed from your anniversary date, your points are reset to zero, and you can start earning points again. While your points are reset each year on your anniversary date, your tier status is determined by the number of points earned during your previous year of membership, regardless of how many points you may have redeemed. Your status in a particular tier will remain the same during the year in which you are eligible for that tier and during the following full year. After that, you’ll need to earn enough points to continue to remain in that tier each year. For example, if you enter Tier 2, Brilliant, during your first year, you’ll maintain your Brilliant status during your second year. However, if you earn less than 251 points from eligible purchases during your second year, you’ll move back down to Tier 1, Smart status at the beginning of your third year.

Your membership will expire if you haven't redeemed or made a purchase for a period of 24 months or more.

Can the Clinique VIP programme be cancelled?

Yes. We can, at our sole discretion, cancel, modify or restrict the Clinique VIP programme, or any aspect or feature of this loyalty programme, at any time without prior notice, even though these changes may affect the value of the points and benefits already accumulated or earned and/or the ability to redeem the points and benefits accumulated .

No. Clinique VIP points and benefits cannot be shared or combined. Only the member paying for the products may accumulate points and benefits.

Do my points and benefits have any cash value?

No. The points and benefits earned through Clinique VIP have no cash value, are non-transferable, and members have no ownership rights over the points and benefits. The products received as rewards via Clinique VIP cannot be returned or exchanged for money or any other products or points.
